What it does

“Configure and diagnose Fusion interoperability, transport selection, scoped profiles and qualification. Use for setup or connection problems, not design edits.”
The author's description, from SKILL.md

Generated summary from the skill's own text

This skill configures Autodesk Fusion connectivity, transport protocols, and authentication profiles for agent use. It diagnoses connection issues, enrolls native tools with proper authentication, and validates qualification on test documents without modifying designs.

When to use it

  • Setting up Autodesk Fusion integration for the first time
  • Diagnosing connection or transport layer problems
  • Enrolling native tools with explicit credential verification
  • Validating agent qualification on test documents

When not to

  • Making design changes or edits in Fusion
  • When user credentials need to be collected or stored
  • Situations requiring policy or permission overrides

Install

These commands install from the publisher's repository and need no account.

skills CLI

npx skills add openai/community-plugins --skill setup-autodesk-fusion

Installs from the repository's default branch, which may have changed since the commit we checked.

GitHub CLI 2.90 or later

gh skill install openai/community-plugins setup-autodesk-fusion@62844ca1cd865b76c7fed7180fc1ffef16e9167b

Installs the commit we checked (62844ca).

Copy by hand

Download the folder at 62844ca and put it in .claude/skills/setup-autodesk-fusion for Claude Code and in .agents/skills/setup-autodesk-fusion for Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode.

1. Download that folder at exactly this commit. Do not use the default branch.
2. Copy every file unchanged, keeping the folder structure, into .claude/skills/setup-autodesk-fusion/ for Claude Code and .agents/skills/setup-autodesk-fusion/ for Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode. Create the folders if they do not exist.
3. Do not edit the files, and do not run any script in the folder unless I ask you to.
4. When you are done, list the files you copied and where you put them.

Call `fusion_connection_status` and `fusion_capabilities_list` first. Distinguish synthetic fixture, managed and assisted modes. Fixture output is not evidence that Autodesk is installed.

Read [setup](../../README.md) and resolve the installed plugin root. Use its bundled CLI without startup npm. Discover the explicitly configured native endpoint and enroll the actual Python tool/schema hash; never guess tools, scan ports or silently switch transports. For the typed add-in, install the assembled package and follow [the add-in guide](../../addin/README.md).

For additional required native arguments, use `native-enroll --fixed-arguments-file` with a trusted absolute JSON-object file and explicitly reviewed values. Do not infer defaults, reuse an old mapping's values or override the script argument. An optional `--url` is saved as the selected endpoint. Enrollment rejects changed profiles and never executes the native tool or establishes qualification.

Use a trusted private profile for the user's scope. Existing valid grants cover routine work; changed target, billing, publication or manufacturing risk needs matching authority. Never edit policy to bypass a denial or invent qualification evidence.

Cloud PKCE and native Data MCP authentication are separate. Let the user complete the supported Autodesk sign-in URL; never collect passwords or copy Codex credentials. Enterprise extensions are privileged deployment code.

Run [qualification](../../docs/qualification.md) on approved synthetic documents. Report the connection evidence and exact remaining configuration or licensed-environment gate.
